Chile: Small Brains, Big Ideas 2016

The Biannual “Small Brains, Big Ideas” Course first took place in Santiago, Chile, October 2010 and again in 2012. So far it has successfully trained 55 Latin‐American students on recent advances and modern techniques in neurosciences, primarily focusing on the use of Drosophila melanogaster and Caenorhabditis elegans, Monarch butterflies and Bees for biomedical research.

The CAJAL Advanced Neuroscience Training Programme is a FENS and IBRO initiative in partnership with Bordeaux Neurocampus and the Champalimaud Foundation, which offers state-of-the-art hands-on training courses in neuroscience. The CAJAL Advanced Neuroscience Training Programme represents commitment by the four partner institutions FENS, IBRO, University of Bordeaux and the Champalimaud Foundation to establish a dedicated neuroscience training facility in Europe.

Colombia: Critical Global Mental Health: Gender, Rights And Community Based Perspectives

Academic Course Information
This course will cover the latest discussions about mental health and treatment in communities. Critically explores the concepts of mental health and illness, focusing on the construction of arguments about gender and human rights, and the relationship between treatment and care. Also explores the value of interventions from the community to work mental health issues.

Note: The course will be taught in English with simultaneous translation.
