The Glial Meeting series has become a tradition since the first gathering in 1994 at the University of Heidelberg. Subsequent Glial Meetings have been held throughout Europe every second year. After the outstanding success of the Glia Meeting 2017 in Edinburgh with more than 1.300 participants, the conference comes for the first time to Portugal and it will be hosted in Porto, the second-largest city in Portugal. Porto is known for its wines, and named “European best destination in 2017” on the World Travel Awards. It is a thriving and pulsating city blending historic heritage, with contemporary creations, an exciting artistic and cultural agenda, and vibrant nightlife.
