The FALAN wants its quadrennial congresses and other meetings to be inclusive and for participants to feel safe and welcome. FALAN is committed to equal opportunities and non-discriminatory procedures and practices throughout its work to promote an inclusive culture among its members and in science in general. All official FALAN events by welcoming people from all walks of life, irrespective of socioeconomic background, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender status, mental health status, religion, national origin, and political views.
The FALAN supports the philosophy of equal opportunity for all and fair treatment to all, enabling the encouragement of free expression, and exchange of scientific and educational ideas.
To support this statement, the FALAN is preparing its Code of Conduct. Also, FALAN formally endorses the ALBA Declaration on Equity and Inclusion, and works to fulfill its goals.
